I have followed the Woodland Park, Colorado Wal-Mart proposal since January and have looked at all angles regarding the project. First I’d like to say I appreciate the CRG (Citizens for Responsible Growth - the group opposing Wal-Mart) and I listened to their arguments, I initially considered a time out so to speak before city council made a decision. But after listening to all the issues I support the approval of the project but I have to say in the end we have a better Woodland Park Wal-Mart because of the CRG group, so thanks. The process worked, we get a Woodland Park Wal-Mart the way we want it. Oppsss, isn’t that a slogan for something else.
In all seriousness, Woodland Park Colorado will have a store reflecting the personality of our mountain community. A store we can be proud to have in the community. I appreciate the fact there are some people in the community who don’t want to shop at Wal-Mart and that’s your choice but I personally don’t have an issue with saving money. I agree there could be some things Wal-Mart could do to improve the quality of its merchandise, you know upscale it a bit. But if you’re a prudent shopper then you’ll buy the brands you like that they carry.
I for one welcome the Woodland Park Wal-Mart! Let’s get it built so I can save time and money going down the hill.
