Have been suffering from insomnia lately — have my days and nights mixed up. So I’ve been sitting here getting some work done while watching ‘Cold Mountain‘ and it never fails, I always cry. Nicole Kidman and Jude Law are great in the movie — but if I could change the ending I would but then I guess it wouldn’t qualify as an ‘epic’. But who cares — in my ending of course Inman (Jude Law) wouldn’t die. He can still get shot, but he would make a recovery. Yes, I’m a sap for happy endings and I want one!

The supporting cast in the movie are great, I especially like Philip Hoffman who plays the corrupt preacher. And Renee Zellweger is great as the uneducated, ‘farm smart’ country girl.
Cold Mountain is a nice historical epic revolving around a love story but should have given us a different ending — Inman walked to far.

On a scale from 1 to 5 stars, this movie definitely gets 5 — I just wish the ending was different.
