The recent reactions of the radical Muslim community around the world in response to a ‘cartoon’ has me very very concerned. The bottom line is our way of life is threatened — and this kind of reaction, although, foreign to us, is a way of life in the Middle East and it is getting worse. This is a world we are in collision with and we’re coming down to the wire. Are we going to fight for our way of life? We don’t have a choice — we have to fight for our way of life, not for ourselves, but for our children, and grandchildren.
Here’s a site all American’s will want to view: http://www.freemuslims.org/about/
Follow-up — from press conference on CSPAN:
Mahdi Bray, of the Muslim American Society — is ‘offended’ by the cartoons of Prophet Muhammad. Well he can be offended, I’m offended by things, but others have a right to their opinion. They have a right to speak their mind, or even create an offensive religious cartoon. What bothers me about some of the reactions, is their lack of outrage at the reactions and violence of the radical fundamentalists. Sure he mentions, well this violence isn’t condoned, but he mentioned it in passing, he didn’t show much emotion.
Give me a break — in FREE societies where people have FREEDOM of SPEECH and cartoons are used to make a point — then you have a right to be offended, but you don’t have the right to curb my freedom. And you don’t have the right to ‘cut off my hands’ when you don’t like what I’ve written or drawn.
Again, we have to fight for our way of life and for those who don’t want to live in a free SECULAR democracy then you should get with the program or leave. We cannot cower to the demands of right wing extremists whether they are Muslim, Christians, or any other religious sect.
