Possibly that its now condoned through an ‘official’ court system. Possibly that it has been propped up and condoned by the US government? Is this religious intolerance any different than the previous Taliban? In one word, no!
Wow, is all I could say when I learned about the religious intolerance in current Afghanistan. I’m not a religious zealot, I’m not a left or right wing person but I am reasonable and fair. So when I saw the report where a man would be executed for his belief in Christianity I was flabbergasted. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Is this “NEW” government, that our men/women are shedding their blood for any better than the taliban? Do we want to continue to support and give our MONEY to a country that doesn’t have religious tolerance. I vote NO on that one.
I know, people say we can’t impose our beliefs and culture on others. OK, so I agree to some extent. Yes, we can’t say you have to believe in Christianity as opposed to Isalam — that we can’t do. But I won’t, can’t and we shouldn’t allow the government to be built on tribal laws and such restrictive ideas as you’re going to be killed/executed if you don’t believe in a specific religion.
And when it comes down to the bottom line — no American should be over there trying to solve hundreds of years of their shit. If I sound bitter, then you’re right and until we all wake up we’ll still be stuck in this quagmire.
