Recently started a couple of interesting projects — first I’m scanning in all my old picts and that brings back all kinds of memories, good and bad. The picture attached to this article is only a few years old but it brings back some happy memories. The second project is a family networking site to connect family members scattered across the globe — its getting off to a good start. We’ve got several people interested so we’ll see how it takes off. It will also be a good experiment for me because computer mediated communication and social networks are interests. I’m checking into where I should get my PhD in the field so lets see what I can learn from these real life experiences.

I’m going to also start posting specific pictures then writing what I remember about the picts — you know building the stories. It might be interesting to have other family members also share their memories surrounding the photo. The beauty of this is our descendents will have a clearer picture of their ancestors. They will get to know us even after we’re gone as opposed to only being able to piece together the stories passed down over generations. It reminds me a bit of that movie where Robin Williams takes people’s video and creates a final tape of their life.
