I’ve always followed my mother’s saying, “Sticks and stones will break your bones, but words will never hurt me.”
I guess the people in the countries protesting weren’t taught this lesson.
I’m amazed that we, the West/Christians don’t fill our streets when some Muslim cleric speaks ill of our religion. My guess is most of us were taught the above — we also have lives, families, and more important things to do.
But we should all remember, and this is a reminder — we’re in a war with radical Islam. The reaction to the Pope’s comments is just one more indication that we, the west have to take a stand against this crap! If they want to protest “violently” then they are proving their point. I’m so disgusted with the double standards — but what is really scary is that most of us just don’t care what these radical muslims are doing/saying. Mainly because we don’t want to be bothered and it isn’t that important to us. However, we should be concerned because what this violence and hatred does is fuel the flame of hate. Fuels the flame of the radical muslims to continue to wage “jihad” against us.
Wake up, we are in a religious war — even if we don’t want to fight — we will have too.
Update
This story still has legs — and the Muslim leaders fanning the flame could be seen as criminal. I’m not Catholic, I don’t follow the Pope, but I do see the ignorance of the radical Muslim leaders using this to their advantage.
