I watched his statement today and my impressions were he was ‘passing the buck’. When he said he didn’t know about this until a couple weeks ago. That statement to me is hard to believe! He also tried to deflect the blame to the ‘other side’ of the aisle — I’m afraid this doesn’t make it OK.

He said, “We (the Republicans) took action when we found out.” (i.e., two weeks ago) But what I know is that Mark Foley resigned — the Republicans didn’t take any action — they sat on this for two years, they ignored this controversy for two years.

Dennis Hastert you should resign because you didn’t do your job.

The sad part of all this is it is deflecting the real issues our country needs to deal with — like nuclear weapons, the war in Iraq, the economy, homeland security, and healthcare! The people in office need to take a look at themselves, do a bit of soul searching and remember why they are in office! They are there not to ‘enrich’ themselves but to take care of the ‘people’s business’! Our business — but it seems they have lost this focus and they are practicing the ‘hedonist’ philosophy (the doctrine holding that behavior is motivated by the desire for pleasure and the avoidance of pain).

I ask all our elected officials, regardless of party affiliation to remember why they are there — I know there are some people in office that remember but the sad thing is they aren’t making a difference or at least it doesn’t seem like they are.

NOTICE to CAREER POLITICIANS — Go get a REAL job — STOP milking the US citizens! Service is good but LIFE LONG service is a SCAM! Sorta of like people who live on welfare for generations — they get used to the easy life. Life long politicians remind me of that thinking.
